Su Lang Mer Noch Am Lääve Sin

When the coronavirus hit Germany in February 2020, I had just spent six days and nights pushing my camera through the crowds at Cologne Carnival. “So lang mer noch am lääve sin” („As long as we are stilll alive“), I sang with the Rhinelanders there at the top of my lungs and we sang along. Who would have thought that strange hugs would be so rare only a short time later.
