ONE DAY IN BERLIN

兼兼 (Jian Jian) Magazine release in Berlin and London

Holger Biermann and Christian Reister are Berlin-based photographers who have known and respected each other for years. From midnight to midnight on 21 June 2025, they independently documented their city. Together, they exposed 13 rolls of black-and-white film. Around 470 images were created. For the magazine 兼兼 (Jian Jian) 07 the focus was not on juxtaposing two individual perspectives, but on merging them into a photographic duet.

兼兼 (Jian Jian) is an independent photography magazine published by Uhm! Publishing, London, dedicated to black-and-white film photography, built around the idea of 兼. This Chinese character represents duality, not as multitasking, but as a seamless blending of vision and thought.
