Luxus Für Alle
“Luxury for all” describes the lifestyle of the noughties in Berlin. The fall and now complete removal of the Berlin Wall had created enormous wastelands, especially in Mitte, which I walked through every day as I explored the city. From Potsdamer Platz, you had a clear view of the Hotel Adlon on Pariser Platz and could even walk there cross-country. In its innermost core, the big city conveyed to the visitor a legendary emptiness that can only be found in Berlin today on Tempelhofer Feld. The series shows this – and the people in it.
