Rückbau

Rückbau is a collection of images showing the progressive disappearance of the Palast der Republik. My daily photo tours through Berlin between 2003 and 2010 took me through Mitte a lot and so the Palast, or what was left of it, appears again and again in the pictures. Sometimes with, sometimes without people, sometimes as a background from a car, sometimes quite deliberately as a whimsical urban landscape. It only became my own project in retrospect, when I realized that I could summarize all these impressions in a meaningful way.
